This is the fifth post from my holiday trip to Lofoten, Norway 2013. Finally, I made the video compilation from the trip! I want to give special thanks to my friends (Recordable and C.Lepakko), who helped me by making and remixing the song playing in the background! I also used my friend’s fast computer for making the video editing much easier. Now I can show this video in the spearfishing presentation I promised to give for one diving club. Well, here is the video, enjoy! 🙂
Hi,
I normally don’t look on blog websites. But yours is really interesting 😉 good job!
I was looking for some spearfishing on the lofots.
I was there 2012 in August/October with my family (1,5 yr old son, wife and me). We had a few bad days but also some very good ones. I was spearfishing from the camping place down south. Best place was a bridge at 68.168236,14.22163. The most of the places was just a lot of sand without any fish. Just under the bridge I was able to catch normal size fish. I was diving for scallops near of Bergen, so I normally know how they look like, but couldn’t find any of them up there.
So now we want to travel up to the lofots again (July/August) and I was wondering if you may have any tips for me?
cheers Felix
Hello and thanks a lot Felix! 🙂
If you want to catch big fish “easily”, you should go to Saltstraumen https://www.google.fi/maps/@67.2283057,14.6148969,14z
But there are strong currents in Saltstraumen, so it is dangerous to go there alone without a boat and experienced friends.
In Lofoten we dived in these places (just a couple to show), sometimes with a boat and sometimes not:
Sorry, I’m a little absent minded, but perhaps here I got one flounder, quite empty place

Here we got some pollock

and I can’t remember, but it was some of these bays where we found brown crabs and scallops

Here is the wreck where we dived, I got one pretty nice pollock there

Here I saw a mother and baby porpoise, but did not fish 🙂

I’m sorry, but just now I cannot remember the other places 😛 I will add the coordinates if I remember the other places we visited!
Best wishes
