My Northern Diary

Drawings

From here you can find the posts related to drawing. I do both bitmap and vector graphics, and beside of the digital graphics, I sometimes grab the good old pencil in my hand. In the earlier days, I did drawings as such just for my own fun, but nowadays I mostly draw aside of other things, mostly for blogging and presentation purposes.

Phew, finally! After many weeks fighting, I seriously believe that gnomes exist. Ones which live inside of electrical devices, and they try to ruin your life. But after all the headache, I believe the fight was worth it! If you … Continue reading →

No Aiming Issues with Winchester, only Shaky Hands

Tomorrow is the first day of grouse hunting season 2014. That is why I took my good old Winchester, the lever action cutie, and went to a shooting range. I really liked to look through the lowered sights I made during … Continue reading →

Careless and Dumb People

I made a new drawing for my Roskat Rannalle (Garbage to Shores) Facebook page. It is shame how inefficient it is to try to talk sense to people, who cannot understand much anything. It is as inefficient and short sighted … Continue reading →

Spearfishing Presentation

Today I gave a spearfishing presentation to one diving club because they wanted. The presentation was kept at a wing restaurant. I got one wing meal and a beer as a “salary” 😀 Keep away taxman! I explained about the … Continue reading →

Home made short iron open sights for Winchester 9422 .22 mag WMR lever action. Bullet trajectories, bore and sight lines are shown in different situations.

“That does it!” I thought yesterday, after I shot two times a hazel grouse with my .22 WMR Winchester and the bird didn’t die. Sometimes it is really difficult to estimate the correct aiming point for the game, especially when … Continue reading →

Birthday gift to my mother

A bluish watercolor painting from a sight over a lake I drew to my mother with her own birthday gift. Sinertävä järvimaisema äidin synttärilahjaksi ostetuilla vesiväreillä piirrettynä.

Today my mother had a birthday. Currently, she is recovering from the traumas and complications she got from the bybass surgery, where she finally went after a long torment of heart failures. Her condition gets better and there is a … Continue reading →

Underwater Dumps

A big pile of garbage found underwater

Sometimes I’m ashamed of being a human. We maybe have the most sophisticated brains in our biosphere, but still in some cases we are like simple amoebae, because most of us can only react to straight stimuli. We cannot understand … Continue reading →

Illustration of Quantum Odds

Posted on 28/04/2013 by admin

So far I have had a good qualitative figure about the strange quantum phenomena, which constantly proceeds under the “surface” (in the air, under our skins, in the light that scatters through the window etc). When I try to explain … Continue reading →

Designing of Nanotools – Protein Enhancements with Genetic Engineering

Gallery

Posted on 29/03/2013 by admin
DNA contains words made of three "letters" (these letters are actually small molecules). Inside of cells, specific machines are used for turning this genetic code to sequence of amino acids attached to each other to make a protein. "ATG" means that "start the protein sequence here" and "First amino acid is methionine" for example. "TGA" means that "Stop here, don't elongate the protein anymore". Notice how thin DNA is (only 0.000002mm), why the huge amount of genetic information for build you can be rammed inside of cells.

I have almost finished my studies at the university and soon I will graduate as a master of science (during the next fall). That’s why I wrote this post for celebrating all the years I have studied in our awesome … Continue reading →

Powerful Dreams and Tree Climbing

Crossbow for tree climbing. With this one can shoot a prime rope over a branch.

Dreams are maybe the most interesting source of inspiration for drawing. I have already drawn many images after seeing some spectacular and effective dreams. By drawing I can somehow save these illusions seen during the longest trips inside to myself. … Continue reading →

My Aquarium

Gallery

Posted on 20/02/2013 by admin
A simplified presentation from my aquarium (the image is taken from above). A sheet of filter foam covers one corner of the aquarium and a pump blows water back in the main side. The Epipremnum aureum has she's roots deep inside the foam like anubias also does.

I have had my present aquarium from the beginning when I moved away from my parents. It still kicks quite well after eight years! The maintenance routines take only about 15 minutes in a week, since the feeding is automated … Continue reading →

Marbles and a surface anomaly in a box representing a quantum mirage

Before I go any further, I must warn that I’m at the beginning of my physics studies, so I might say something really silly here! Anyhow, shortly about what I have recently found: Imagine that you have a flat surface … Continue reading →
