Stormy Weekend & Waiting for Better Hunting Days

It happens so often. Usually, during weekends the weather is awful and weekdays are better for hunting. I knew that there is going to be a storm during the night, as I took my hiking and hunting gears and went to a forest, but the wind ruined also the day. Thus, because there is not too much time, and because the nocturnal lullaby continued till the midday, I came back to the city and started to design some work experiments. Tomorrow I’m going to carry out those experiments, and during the next week I will go back into the forest. The weather forecast says that Wednesday and Thursday should be calm, relatively cold and good days for searching and luring grouse. 🙂 I also took some photos during this extremely short hiking trip, enjoy!

Finally, I managed to get into a forest when it was still bright. Not sure did that distant spruce fall because of the current storm, but surely some of the trees will become damaged during the night. That is why I slept in a younger forest, so that I didn’t became smashed by the falling trees. 😀

This place is good. I wish that people could experience a lonely storm in a forest, it’s really relaxing to listen the roaring wind in the trees. Unfortunately, the storm was still blowing strongly during the morning, why I continued my sleep. It is a waste of time to search grouse, as the birds will just sulk in their hides, and I cannot hear them flying or rustling in the forest floor anyways.

When I opened my eyes again, it was already a forenoon.

The recently added tent wax seemed to work pretty well.

It is not raining anymore, but the wind is still blowing.

This is getting ridiculous. I already waited for many hours and started seriously designing my work stuff, while the wind was still blowing. Maybe I should go home and wait for better hunting days.

Done, this is enough for today, tomorrow I shall go into the laboratory. Notice the dried Albatrellus mushrooms next to the beer. 🙂
